Crystal D's 2016 Community Outreach Challenge
At Crystal D, we’re big on giving back to our community.
Over the years, we’ve visited Feed My Starving Children, packing meals for kids. We’ve adopted families at Christmas to make sure they all have Christmas gifts. Our employees donate part of their paychecks to a local food bank, and we sponsor a blood drive to help save lives in the Twin Cities.
Last year, our company president, Chuck Dahlgren, challenged the company to volunteer a total of 1000 hours of community outreach. Recently, Chuck was interviewed about the challenges and rewards of this goal of 1000 hours volunteered by John Palen, and the article was published in the Minnesota Business Magazine. You can read the article here.
Many thanks to John for taking the time to talk to Chuck and feature Crystal D’s volunteer efforts.
It started with a loving and servant heart.
2016 was not the first time Crystal D gave back to our community. Our community outreach began a decade ago when one very special individual, Memory Maker Cathy Klein, suggested we start volunteering with the Salvation Army. Cathy has worked with them for quite a while, and she loves the work that they do. Without her leadership, we would not have started volunteering when we did!
Our Memory Makers enjoy bonding as a company when we participate in community outreach. But more importantly than that, we love being able to give back and help people. With a majority of the events we participate in, we have the chance to help change lives.
Talk to Us!
Our Memory Makers have been challenged with volunteering 1000 hours of community outreach again in 2017. Where have you volunteered before? How does volunteering make you feel?
