Our Favorite Employee Engagement Resources

We’ve been sharing employee engagement tips and tricks from many different experts, leaving you to wonder, “Where did they learn all of this?!” Chuck shared information about a few of the experts he’s consulted in the Our Story section, and here’s a list of the rest!

Recognition Professionals International (RPI):  www.recognition.org

RPI sets the bar in professional development for the managers and coordinators who lead recognition endeavors in corporations around the world. The organization also establishes and promotes best practices for planning, executing, and evaluating engagement programs using the Certified Recognition Professional (CRP) program.

At Crystal D, we used RPI’s best practices to guide us. These best practices helped train us on the purpose of employee recognition. We adapted all of their advice to help create our Value Champion program where we nominate our coworkers to be Value Champions that are awarded at WOW Day every year.

Nelson Motivation, Inc.: www.drbobnelson.com

Dr. Bob Nelson is the groundbreaking researcher who set the standard in the employee recognition industry. He is a pioneer in this industry and continues to coach, train, and motivate managers and recognition practitioners all over the world. He is the author of several books including, The 1001 Rewards & Recognition Fieldbook.

Gallup: www.gallup.com

Gallup is an organization that combines analytics and advice to help leaders and organizations identify opportunities to create meaningful change at work. Our management team has used the Gallup tools and adapted them for their teams. Their consultants help organizations develop and implement a strategy to create a more engaged company culture.

Our controller and accounting manager Cathy Klein likes the new way Gallup makes you think. “Focusing on strengths instead of weaknesses was a real eye-opener for me,” she said. “We are always so quick to point out the negatives, so changing and focusing on the positives makes you appreciate your employees and their contributions to the company.” Our IT manager Toua Yang had similar feelings saying, “It’s given me a new perspective on training and managing employees. I was always taught to fix what’s broken and not focus on what’s working. I love working with what’s working to strengthen it so an employee can become a master at it.”
